 Dear Mr. Madison, You always say that many different types of people listen to your show. I am a 54 year old gay white woman. On Thursday, as usual, I was listening to your show while taking my 70 mile drive to work. Listening to what you said and hearing all the supportive callers from the black community, I was feeling so much love I had pull off the freeway. I had have a good cry. I called in to thank you, Sherry and all your callers but I couldn't compose myself. I have had the same beautiful partner for more than 20 years. On behalf of my partner, I say thank you to you and your supportive callers from yesterday. I say thank you for all the good things you do to encourage people. I thank you for telling the truth of things. I salute the bravery of my President. I remind all of my brothers and sisters who have ever experienced racism, prejudice, hatred, discrimination and the like, that there are still (I believe) 29 states in our country where a person can be fired from their job just for being gay. Twenty nine. So, I salute the bravery of my president. Every time there's a major election, there is a huge ground swell of antigay sentiment. We feel it. So, I salute the bravery of my President. This was not an easy thing he did. When I woke up this morning I had to remind myself what country I was in. I thought I might be in the twilight zone. I just heard a black american president say he supports gay marriage. What a great day this is. I feel much differntly today than I did yesterday, in a very good way. | THANKS FOR CARING ABOUT THE REAL ISSUES. CBS Miami reported last night (Friday, April 20) that Zimmerman lied under oath when he said that he did not know Trayvon Martin's age. They played the 9-1-1 tape where he told the dispatcher that the person he was stalking was in his LATE TEENS. I am surprised today (Saturday) that none of the cable legal experts caught that lie. Joe I hope that Black talk radio will pursue this and ignite this dialogue. | Seeking justice in the education system regarding the safety of students. Our daughter was physically assaulted by a teacher February 13, 2012. The high school campus and it's district in Cedar Hill, TX would like for us to forget about it and go away. That's not the case. We will press forward until their is a change. <br /> <br /> Today has been emotionally and mentally draining. Conversation after conversation, writings after writings, calls in, calls out. | 3 of us made a Hoodie Day rally, with a "Honk 4 Trayvon" sign, & we held the sign up in honor of Joe Madison calling for National Hoodie Day; on New York Ave by the McDonald's. A lot of cars honked! A young woman walking by said"Honk honk honk honk honk!" the whole way down the sidewalk! Yay to honkers! We will next collect$ for defense fund to follow up on the honks. | Joe I just listened to the 911 call involving Treyvon Martin. I had to listen to it several times. Listening to Treyvon crying and pleading for help. | Mr. Madison, I was so happy to see you not let Armstrong Williams spew his "Right Wing" crap about why it was a bad idea for Representative Rush to put on his hoodie in the halls of congress on the Roland Martin show, 4/1/2012. In the past, the other guests on the panel would let him have his say without really challenging him. You had Mr. Williams muttering and stuttering. | Mr. Madison, My father introduced me to you almost 18 years ago. I was about 20 years old. I am 38 now, and I tell you that you have helped change my views on politics, civil rights, education, sports, etc., Your voice demands respect. I have watched you interact with right wingers and your voice and your stamina for rights makes them stand at attention. I respect you so much! My husband respects you, my mother and father still love your work. I live in NC, and I tell you if I can play my Android phone through my computer to let all hear your voice I would...ok I'll tell the truth, I have allowed my headphones to conveniently come out of my phone to allow my cubemates hear you, and the conviction in your voice and I fumbled around and finally put it back into my phone. I count it an honor to be a student on your bus. I know at times your will get heated with your students...but I don't take it as you being rude, I take it as you being so passionate in seeing that we get this knowledge into our thick skulls. | Hello Mr. Madison, I am grateful that you are on the air. I love listening to you on satellite radio. I am always concerned about how the media portrays African Americans. I am grateful for you, Al Sharpton and Mellisa Harris-Perry. All of your shows are well researched and relevant. I am all for freedom of speech. But...I do want to point out that I am not happy with Yahoo and their comment section in particular. The content is evil and hateful. It seems that we as African American's take the brunt of the hateful comments. Why is yahoo, who has paid advertisers, is allowed to post negative comments 365 days per year. I recently found that my comments were being censored. They were not of a hateful nature. Why are we allowing Yahoo to freely post comments where we as African Americans are called every name in the book. The comments about First Lady Michelle Obama have been evil. A newspaper with paid advertisers could never get away with this. Mr Madison please look into this issue. Yahoo has a huge audience. Yahoo also has access to our private e-mail accounts. | My Conspiracy Theory With The Sandford, FL PD In The Shoting Death Of Treyvon Martin<br /> PLEASE JUST READ THIS I have been paying very close attention to this case since you first brought it to our attention, it seems to me that no one is focuse on the 46 times he called 911 since Jan. 1, 2011 to report disturbances, break-ins, windows left open and other incidents. Nine of those times, he saw someone or something suspicious.now from my understanding, when you call 911, theirs always officers dispached to the seen of the call to investagate the reason for the call. 46 times of coming incontact with this guy in 1 year is enough time to get to know a person very well to the point that you may even cosider him to be a friend. I see it all the time when police get to know a citizen in the community that is very willing to be helpful. They will set around and talk about whats going on in the area, they will talk about personal things such as family, friend, and even fire arms, some even become informants. I think there should be a very close look at everyone of the calls he has made to 911 while living in that community and which officers had responded to the calls to see how many times he came in contact with the 2 officers that responed the night of Trayvon's death. I truly believe they knew Goerge Zimmerman personaly and thats why they just took his word for what it was worth. I believe this is a path worth investigating.
